One prominent investment company provides a tie as an unusual Christmas gift to all of their male brokers and staff Mustard's brief was for 5 designs - each in four colour schemes - reflecting 'City' taste and colouring. The customer wanted best hand-made quality, the only reference to thier company being an 'own label' on the narrow end of the tie. Mustard presented 50 original designs. After much debate, the Chairman's wife made the final selection! A large car manufacturer wanted to provide a 'uniform' for male staff to wear during a trade show. They hit a problem sourcing a co-ordinated tie for the tweed jacket they had chosen. Mustard was called in to create a top quality tie that exactly reproduced the colours in the tweed. From about 20 ideas, a dapper stripe was the winner. The silk was specially woven in luxurious '150 pk. English silk reppe' by one of England's finest silk weavers, and 100 ties were hand-made and delivered well in time for the show. An event management company needed a smart tie to complement classic navy blazer and grey trousers. Mustard was briefed to produce a look that was not 'corporate' but which included the company colours of magenta and teal. And, because the staff sometimes work out of doors, the tie had to be water-resistant. The customer selected a classic design, re-woven in company colours, using a polyester and silk blend both to increase its water-resistance and to offer a lower price than pure silk. |
